Bulk Change in Scenario Conditions
The Bulk Change condition allows you to select a set of activities that meet filter criteria and apply a uniform change (e.g. calendar change, duration adjustment) across them. It’s an efficient way to simulate “mass updates” in a scenario.
To create a bulk change condition:
- Click the Project name from the Project List.
- Click Modeling from the top menu bar.
- Click conditions
- Click + Condition from the top right of the screen and click Bulk Change.
- Select the schedule to base your condition on and click Next
- Click + Add New Filter
- Pick a parameter (e.g. Activity Name) and set a condition (e.g. Contains “punch”)
- Add more filters as needed and click Next
- Click + Add Change Item
- Choose parameter (e.g. Calendar). Choose target value (e.g. 6-day calendar)
- Click Next
- Review list of matching activities
- Uncheck any you want to exclude and click Next
- Enter descriptive name (e.g. “Punch List → 6-day calendar”)
- Click Create and Close
- Click Create and Close
To Create and Apply a Model with Bulk Change:
- Go to the Project Workspace by clicking the project from the Project List.
- Click Modeling from the top menu bar.
- Click + Model from the top right of the screen.
- Go to Advanced Model
- Enter Model Info and click Next
- Select Schedules and click Next
- Note: You must select the schedule the Bulk Change was built off of.
- Conditions: check the Bulk Change rule and click Save / Close
- Wait for model run and notification
To view and compare results:
- On the Project Dashboard, pick the Bulk Change model in the Model box to view the results
- Toggle between the original and bulk model to compare outcome (end dates, critical path)
