Bulk Change in Scenario Conditions

The Bulk Change condition allows you to select a set of activities that meet filter criteria and apply a uniform change (e.g. calendar change, duration adjustment) across them. It’s an efficient way to simulate “mass updates” in a scenario.

To create a bulk change condition:

  1. Click the Project name from the Project List.
  2. Click Modeling from the top menu bar.
  3. Click conditions
  4. Click + Condition from the top right of the screen and click Bulk Change.
  5. Select the schedule to base your condition on and click Next
  6. Click + Add New Filter
    1. Pick a parameter (e.g. Activity Name) and set a condition (e.g. Contains “punch”)
    2. Add more filters as needed and click Next
  7. Click + Add Change Item
    1. Choose parameter (e.g. Calendar). Choose target value (e.g. 6-day calendar)
    2. Click Next
  8. Review list of matching activities
    1. Uncheck any you want to exclude and click Next
  9. Enter descriptive name (e.g. “Punch List → 6-day calendar”)
    1. Click Create and Close

To Create and Apply a Model with Bulk Change:

  1. Go to the Project Workspace by clicking the project from the Project List.
  2. Click Modeling from the top menu bar.
  3. Click + Model from the top right of the screen.
  4. Go to Advanced Model
  5. Enter Model Info and click Next
  6. Select Schedules and click Next
  7. Note: You must select the schedule the Bulk Change was built off of.
  8. Conditions: check the Bulk Change rule and click Save / Close
  9. Wait for model run and notification

To view and compare results:

  1. On the Project Dashboard, pick the Bulk Change model in the Model box to view the results
  2. Toggle between the original and bulk model to compare outcome (end dates, critical path)
