This video walks you through everything you see on the Dashboard when you first log in.
SmartPM Menu Bar
On the top menu bar of the SmartPM Dashboard, you will see the following icons you can select:
Dashboard
Clicking on the Dashboard icon will bring you back to the home page, the SmartPM Dashboard
Resources
Clicking on the Resources icon will show you options on a drop down menu including
- Support email support@smartpmtech.com
- Support phone number 404-329-3000
- Link to download Chrome
- The ability to show/hide tutorial pop ups
- A quickstart guide you can download
Admin
Clicking on the Admin icon will take you to the Admin Dashboard where you can set up:
- Metadata
- Global Configuration
- Users
- Integrations
- Quality Profiles
Feature Request
Clicking on the Feature Request icon will bring you to a Feature Request Form.
You can request new features that you would like to see in SmartPM or make suggestions for features that already exist.
Help
Clicking on the Help “?” icon will take you to the SmartPM Help Center where you can search for answers to questions or learn about scheduling and get SmartPM training.
Logout
Selecting the Logout icon will log you out of the SmartPM application.
SmartPM Package
Right below the SmartPM menu bar, you can see the number of Dashboard, Oversight and Controls project slots you have in your SmartPM package.
Overview
The Overview will summarize the status of all of your projects and show you the number of projects:
- Delayed
- With Low Quality
- That Need New Schedules
- On Track
Clicking on one of these Status Overview buttons will filter all of the projects with that status.
Search
Clicking in the Search box will allow you to search by project name.
Filter
Clicking in the Filter box will allow you to use the filter to filter by meta data tags you previously set up.
Add New Project
Clicking on the “+Add New Project” button will allow you to create a new project and upload a baseline schedule
Quality Checker
Clicking on the green Quality Checker button will allow you to import a schedule and print a quality report as well as export the quality issues in an Excel spreadsheet.
Project Health
Project Health is calculated by a combination of other project metrics. It adjusts over time, and it adds importance of various metrics at different points in time based on earned value
Schedule Performance Index
The Schedule Performance Index (SPI) is your actual progress over your planned progress. Plan progress is calculated from the baseline and actual progress is calculated from the most recent update.
Critical Path Delay
The critical path delay is how many days had the job been delayed on the critical path.
Future Acceleration
Future acceleration indicates changes to the schedule that have been made to reduce the duration of activities. It is the cumulative amount of end date variance based solely on changes to the plan schedule to date. This is a calendar day figure.
Schedule Quality
The schedule quality grade is an indicator of the feasibility of the schedule and is derived from the schedule quality profile metrics and how closely the schedule adheres to the standards.
Schedule Compression
Compression as a metric of how much will need to be done for theremaining duration of the job compared to the work originally planned.
Forecasted Completion
The forecasted completion date will become apparent once you surpass 50% complete and will indicate within what time frame the forecasted completion date will be.
Menu Below the Project Summary
- Manage Schedules:Manage Schedules allows you to upload new schedule updates or replace schedules
- View Trends: The trend graphs include: Planned versus Actual percent complete over time, Quality over time, Project Health over time, Changes over time, Schedule Quality over time, Delay and Acceleration over time, Compression over time.
- Summary Report: The summary report is a one page report that shows the planned versus actual progress,recent delays, project summary, milestones and total changes.
- SmartPM Report: The SmartPM Report allows you to group by activities or by WBS structure and provides a Quality Report, Gantt Chart, and Delay Table
- Comments: The comments button allows you to add comments to a project
- Delete Project: The Delete Project button allows you to delete a project.
