Critical Path Delay
This video explains delay to the critical path, also known as the longest path that extends from the beginning of the project until completion, and how this directly drives the end date of the project.
SmartPM’s Critical Path Delay metric quantifies the number of calendar days a project’s critical path—the sequence of tasks that directly determines the project’s end date—has been delayed. This delay is calculated by comparing the start and finish variances of activities on the critical path between schedule updates. The cumulative delay is displayed on the Company Dashboard, and clicking on the Critical Path Delay Days section directs users to the Delay Analysis tool for detailed insights.
This feature enables project teams to identify and address schedule slippage proactively, ensuring timely project completion.
