Critical Path Delay

Critical Path Delay measures how many calendar days your project’s end date has been impacted by delay to progress on the critical path. It helps you see whether delays are affecting your project finish date. 

SmartPM calculates the critical path delay by:

• Looking at the progression  of activities that are on the critical path from one update to the next
• Tabulating the delays in calendar days for those critical activities
• Showing this cumulative delay in the Project List (if the metric is added to the columns)

When project teams are aware of the Critical Path Delay they can identify where the schedule is slipping and take corrective action before delays escalate.
