The Delay Impact Report is a powerful SmartPM report that provides detailed, day-by-day insight into how schedule delays develop. Instead of simply showing that a delay occurred, this report helps you understand exactly which activities contributed to the delay, and when.

This level of visibility makes it easier to explain delays, validate impacts, and communicate schedule performance with confidence.

What the Delay Impact Report Shows

The Delay Impact Report breaks down a defined delay window and analyzes how individual activities contributed to the overall delay. For each day in the delay window, the report identifies:

Which activities were driving the delay
How much impact each activity had
How those daily impacts accumulated into the total delay

This allows you to move beyond high-level delay summaries and clearly see the mechanics of how the delay unfolded over time.

To access the Delay Impact Report:

Click on your Project from the Project list.
From here, go to the analysis tab and click “Delay”.
To generate the report, click “Actions” from the top left of the screen
Click “Delay Impact Report”.

An excel file will generate that shares the data date, activity IDs, and actual delay on each specific activity.
