Finish-to-Finish (FF)

A Finish-to-Finish relationship ties the completion of two activities together. In an FF link, the successor activity cannot finish until the predecessor has finished, but it’s free to start beforehand if the workflow allows. This relationship is useful when two tasks progress in parallel but share a dependent endpoint.

FF is often used to coordinate activities that overlap in execution but must wrap up in a coordinated way, ensuring quality, safety, or workflow continuity at the point of completion.

Example:
Electrical inspections (successor) can begin once some wiring is in place, but they cannot finish until all wiring installation (predecessor) is fully complete.
