The Project List View is a powerful new feature now available in your account. It provides a customizable overview of all your projects, allowing you to track milestones, dates, and key project metadata in a single view.
Accessing the Project List View
- Navigate to the “Projects” section in your SmartPM dashboard, found via the grid icon located underneath the “Executive Dashboard” and “Company Dashboard” icons on the upper right-hand side of your home screen.
- Once in the Projects feature, you will see a list of all projects, each displayed with its primary milestone and a customizable columnar array of data.
Customizing Columns and Data
- You can add or remove columns to tailor the matrix view to your needs. For example, you may add columns for baseline end date, current end date, and end date variance, etc.
- To add/edit a column, select the “Columns” button on the upper left-hand side of the feature.
- Move elements from the Available Columns lists to the Visible Columns list by clicking “Add” on the right side of each element. To remove elements from the Visible Columns, simply click “Remove”, also located to the right side of each data field.
- To arrange the order of the Visible Columns, grab the six-dotted handle on the left of each line and place them according to your preference. Elements will have a top to bottom, left to right correlation once set.
- Upon clicking the green “Save” button located on the bottom right of the screen, the feature will update to display your chosen columns of data.
Viewing and Sorting Milestones
- To break out and view milestones across all projects, enable the “Include Key Milestones” option (found on the top of the matrix) by clicking on the toggle switch. When active, the toggle will appear blue.
- Hot Tip- you can add a column specifically for milestones, making it easier to see milestone names at a glance. See Customizing Columns and Data in the section above.
Filtering, Sorting, and Searching
- Users can filter projects by project plan types and metadata tags, consistent with the filtering options available in the company dashboard. Simply click the “Filter” icon on the top right side of the matrix to engage this functionality.
- Sorting is available by clicking on column headers, such as date, to organize projects by time period (e.g., fiscal year).
- Searching the data set by key-word is available in the search bar also located at the top of the data matrix.
- Hot Tip - This is an excellent time to review your metadata fields found in Admin>Metadata, as these customizable tags are how you will be able to slice and dice your data inside of SmartPM. For example, you can add a "Fiscal Year" metadata field to your projects and use it for filtering.
Saving and Sharing Views
