Monthly Distribution Chart - Average

The Monthly Distribution graph has been updated to include an average trend line on both sides of the data date. This will help users get a clearer, faster understanding of current vs. planned start and finish data.

-There are two average lines in the Monthly Distribution Chart. One average to the left of the data date. And another average line to the right of the data date.

-The average line to the left of the data date will only factor in the data that is in the past of the data date, while the average line to the right of the data date will only factor in the data in the future of the data date. This is why the two average lines will likely not have the same values.

-It is best to isolate one of the metrics at the bottom of the chart, so you can see the average for  that specific metric. If you have multiple metrics showing in the chart, the average will be factoring in all of the metric bar values that are showing in the chart-

-When calculating the average line value, you will want to first look at the average line to the right or left of the data date. Then you will want to add all of the metric bar values (if there is no value for a certain month, consider the value as 0). Lastly, you will want to divide the sum of the metric bar values by the number of months on the right or left side of the data date.

-For example, if I wanted to figure out how SmartPM is calculating 31.33 on the right side of the data date below-

I would start by adding all of the metric bar values to the right of the data date together-
(157+17+9+5+0+0) = 188

Then I will divide this Sum by the number of months to the right of the data date-
(6) Months

(188) / (6) = 31.33
