One-Day Activities
What it is:
Activities assigned a one-day duration, sometimes out of habit, sometimes to “just get them into the schedule.”
Why it’s a Problem:
One-day tasks often oversimplify real work. They can inflate, float, distort progress calculations, and result in schedules that don’t reflect true effort.
Best Practice:
Use durations tied to actual scope and resources. Even small tasks deserve realistic timeframes to keep reporting accurate and the schedule meaningful.
