Schedule Quality Checker
SmartPM offers two powerful actions to enhance your project scheduling: the Schedule Quality Checker and the Schedule Comparison Tool. These tools are designed to help you assess and compare your project schedules, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in your planning process. This article focuses on how to use the Schedule Quality Checker.
The Schedule Quality Checker is an essential tool for evaluating the integrity of your schedule before importing it into SmartPM. It helps identify potential issues that could affect the reliability of your project timeline. This tool allows you to generate a quality report without having to upload a project and can be used an unlimited number of times.
Key features of the Schedule Quality Checker:
- Industry-standard metrics: Evaluate your schedule using over 35 quality metrics, including missing logic, negative lags, constraints, and unrealistic durations.
- Visual dashboards: Quickly assess overall schedule health through graphical displays of quality metrics and risks.
- Detailed reporting: Export results to PDF or Excel for a complete overview of quality issues.
To run a Schedule Quality Check:
- Open the global navigation menu and click Check Schedule Quality.
- Upload the schedule file(s) you want to evaluate. SmartPM supports both XER, XML, PPX, PP, and MPP formats.
- SmartPM will run the analysis based on the default quality profile. To switch the quality profile, click the dropdown and select the correct one.
- Export and/or review the generated report to identify any issues. Key metrics may include missing logic, negative lags, unrealistic durations, and open activities.
- Make necessary adjustments in your schedule based on the insights, then re-upload to SmartPM if needed.
