SmartPM Academy is the built-in learning platform within SmartPM, designed to help users get the most out of the software at every stage of their journey. Whether you're onboarding for the first time or looking to sharpen your expertise in schedule analytics and the Critical Path Method, the Academy provides a structured path forward through several series of interactive courses, video series, and additional resources. SmartPM Academy helps you better understand scheduling concepts and become better equipped to effectively use SmartPM.
How to Access SmartPM Academy
To access SmartPM Academy:
- Click the SmartPM Academy icon in the global navigation menu within SmartPM.
- You'll be taken directly to your personalized learning dashboard, where your courses, progress, and available content are all in one place.
Navigating the Academy Homepage
Once you land on the Academy homepage, you'll find your content organized into a few key sections. Here's a quick overview of what you'll see:
- Featured Courses: Curated content highlighted at the top of the page for easy discovery
- Resume Courses: Courses you've started but haven't yet finished
- My Courses: A view of all courses you're actively enrolled in
- Catalog: The full library of available SmartPM Academy content
Towards the top of SmartPM Academy, you'll find Quick Action Buttons for managing your profile, your courses, accessing resources, and navigating to external SmartPM links.
- Edit Profile: Update your personal information, display name, or other account details within SmartPM Academy.
- SmartPM.com: Opens our main website, where you can find product information, updates, and company resources.
- LinkedIn: Links to SmartPM's official LinkedIn page, useful for staying up to date on company news and announcements.
- Resources: Browse or download available reference materials, guides, templates, and other supplemental content provided by SmartPM.
- Logout — Sign out of SmartPM Academy securely when you're done with your session.
Featured Courses
The Featured Courses section sits at the top of the Academy homepage and highlights curated content that SmartPM recommends for learners. This may include newly released courses, foundational content suited for all users, or courses tied to certifications.
Each course is displayed as a card showing the course title, a brief description, and a status button. You can enroll directly from these cards without navigating elsewhere.
Course status indicators on each card tell you exactly where you stand:
- Enroll: You haven't registered for this course yet. Click to sign up and get started.
- Resume: You've begun this course but haven't completed it. Click to pick up where you left off.
- Completed: You've finished all content in this course.
My Courses
The My Courses section displays every course you have actively enrolled in, giving you a centralized view of both your ongoing and completed work.
Resume Courses
The Resume Courses section displays all courses you've started but haven't yet finished, so you never have to hunt for where you left off.
To continue a course in progress, find it in the Resume Courses section and click the Resume button. The platform will automatically return you to the last lesson or module you were working on.
Once you complete a course, it will move out of this section and reflect a Completed status in My Courses.
Catalog
The Catalog is the full library of SmartPM Academy content: every course, curriculum, and certification available on the platform, whether or not you've enrolled. It's the best place to explore what's available and find learning paths that align with your goals.
To browse the Catalog, click Catalog from the SmartPM Academy Homepage. Click on any course to view its full description, learning objectives, and estimated duration.
The Catalog currently includes content such as:
- Bootcamp Curriculum: Self guided learning designed to build comprehensive SmartPM proficiency and prepare learners for an in-person SmartPM Bootcamp
- Foundations of the Critical Path Method: Nine microlearning courses covering CPM theory and real-world application
- Understanding SmartPM Metrics: Twelve microlearning courses focused on interpreting and leveraging SmartPM's analytical outputs
- Certification Curriculum: Structured learning paths leading to SmartPM certifications
New content is added to the Catalog regularly, so it's worth checking back for new offerings.
Self-Enrollment
Any SmartPM Academy learner can self-enroll in courses independently without administrator action or approval needed. Here's how:
- Navigate to the Catalog from the Academy homepage.
- Browse or search for the course you want to take.
- Click the Enroll button
- Once enrolled, you can begin the course by clicking Start.
- The course will also appear in your My Courses section, so you can easily access it when you are ready to begin.
You can also enroll directly from Featured Course cards on the homepage using the same Enroll button, without needing to go through the Catalog.
