Total Relationships
Total relationships refer to the ratio of relationships (dependencies between activities) to total activities in the schedule.
How total relationships affect the schedule:
- Indicates how well-connected your schedule is.
- Improves project forecasting accuracy.
- Supports better resource allocation and workload management.
Best Practices:
- Target a ratio between 1.5:1 and 2:1.
- Example: Let’s say your schedule has 100 activities.
- If there are 150 relationships, the ratio is 150 ÷ 100 = 1.5:1.
- If there are 200 relationships, the ratio is 200 ÷ 100 = 2:1.
- Review and update activity relationships regularly.
