What does “Error: multiple Projects found in .XER Files” mean and how do I fix it?

This error happens when your .XER file contains more than one schedule. SmartPM currently supports only one schedule per XER file. 

Common Causes and fixes:

• CAUSE: The .XER was exported with multiple projects. 
  • FIX: Split them into individual files via P6 before importing
• CAUSE: External dependencies link your schedule to others. 
  • FIX: Remove those links or export schedules individually.  

• CAUSE: Residual references from the templates or identical project elements cause inclusion.

• FIX: Open and clean the file in P6 or a text editor
