Checklists

Learn how to use SmartPM's powerful Checklist feature to simplify your schedule compliance submittal workflows.

About Checklists

Created for customers who are required to adhere to specific schedule quality rubrics and include accompanying documentation when submitting schedule updates, SmartPM offers the ability to automate portions of this process. By allowing customers to create checklists that integrate these quality rubrics, we can reduce errors in the reporting process and return valuable time to their day.

How to Create Checklists

Note: Only users with Admin-level access can create new checklists.

1. Go to the Company Admin section.

2. Click the "Checklists" menu option.

3. Click "Create New Checklist".

4. The Create Checklist dialog box will appear.

5. Here, the new Checklist can be named, new sections can be added and named, and individual line items can be added to their respective sections.

6. After selecting "Add Line Item," choose between Manual and Automatic line items.

  • Manual items can represent essentially anything that's desired for the checklist, and these items would be verified by the end user prior to submittal.
  • Automatic line items allow users to select from a list of ten specific quality rubric categories that SmartPM will evaluate upon the upload of each schedule update. Many of these rubric categories can be individually configured to meet specific validation criteria.

Using Checklists

Once a Checklist has been created, it can be accessed from the Project Workspace by selecting the "Checklists" link on the project navigation bar. There, available checklists can be viewed and interacted with.

If a checklist has been configured with Automatic line items, the results of those 'checks' will be validated on the upload of each subsequent schedule update and visible here.

If a checklist has been configured with Manual line items, the responses for each can be filled out here as well.

Once a checklist is ready for export, clicking the "Submit" button will lock the checklist and prevent it from being edited further.

Exporting Checklists

Checklists can be exported through the creation of a Custom Report. Within Custom Reports, users can add a checklist Table widget to either a portrait or landscape-oriented page.
