If you are utilizing Microsoft Project and face an end date discrepancy, you may need to utilize the 'Mark on Track' tool in Microsoft Project
The "Mark on Track" feature allows you to quickly update the progress of selected tasks according to the status date/data date. The ‘Mark on Track’ functionality allows MPP to update the percent complete % of selected task(s) based on the start and end date that are set up on the schedule compared to the status date/data date. The status date in MPP is the same as the data date in SmartPM. Your status date and data date in SmartPM should match.
To find the Mark on Track functionality, go to the menu Task > Mark on Track – Mark on Track button. Ensure you are setting the correct Data date/status date and highlighting all activities before clicking ‘Mark on Track’. The highlighted items are the items that changed.
By default, the "Mark on Track" feature uses the current or status date. If you need to update tasks to a different date, you can use the "Update Project" feature instead.
-If you are still having a date discrepancy after performing the "Mark on Track" function and the "Update Project" function, please contact SmartPM Support: support@smartpmtech.com
