What is Float?

Float is calculated using the Critical Path Method technique. There are two types of Float shown for every Activity.

Free Float: The amount of time that an Activity can be delayed without delaying the start of any immediately following Activities.

Total Float:  The total amount of time that an Activity may be delayed from its start date without delaying the Project finish date.

Activities with a Total Float of zero are considered to be Critical Activities, as they will impact your Project's Completion date if they suffer just one day of delay.
