SmartPM automatically calculates each Project’s Planned vs Actual Percent Completion via four different calculations.
- Planned: The percent complete anticipated in the Baseline on the date of the latest imported Schedule Update--
- Actual: The percent complete reported in the latest imported Schedule Update
Overall: The Overall percent complete is a blended calculation that utilizes the following three calculations, utilizing a weighted average approach:
- Cost: SmartPM identifies all activities with cost associations and utilizes their overall Earned Cost Value to generate the Percent Complete calculation
- Resource: SmartPM identifies all activities with Manhours and utilizes their overall Actual Units reported to generate the Percent Complete calculation
- Duration: SmartPM utilizes each activity's overall Duration Complete to generate the Percent Complete calculation
The Total Percent Complete of the Project is calculated using the Current Earned Cost, Resources or Duration for each Activity in the Project and then adding them together. Divide the Sum of all Current Earned Cost/Resources/Duration by the Projects Original Planned Cost/Resources/Duration.
Note: If your schedule is not Cost or Resource-loaded, the Percent Complete calculation will be based solely on Durations
