Schedule Quality Checker

Before importing schedules into SmartPM, it is a good idea to check the quality using the SmartPM Quality Checker.

 

The Schedule Quality Checker will help you get your schedule up to par before importing it into a project. Schedule quality is the most important foundational aspect of your schedule. With a low schedule quality grade, you may not be able to rely on the schedule to give you accurate information, so you always want to check the quality before importing a schedule update into a project. 

 

Steps to use the Quality Checker

  1. Click on the green “Schedule Quality Checker” button on the upper right side of your company dashboard.

  2. Click in the  “Select Schedule File” box 
  3. Upload one or more schedule files to see the schedule quality grade for each one of the schedules that you imported. 
  4. Click on “View Report” to see the summary and print or save the report as a PDF file
  5. Click on export to export an Excel file with detailed information on each area of quality issues and what activities are affecting each specific one. For example, the Missing Logic tab will show you every activity that is either missing a predecessor or successor.

If you have multiple scheduled Quality Profiles, you can use the “Quality Profile” drop-down menu to select different quality profiles. 

 

Steps for an Optimized Workflow:

  1. Use the schedule quality checker before uploading a schedule update to a project
  2. Update the schedule until you have a schedule quality grade that is up to your standards 
  3. Load the update into your project 

 

You can load any schedule you have through the schedule quality checker, regardless if it's a part of a project in SmartPM or not. You can check any schedule you have and get the grade based on your company or organization standards.
