Should Have Started, Should Have Finished Report

This report shows all of the work that should have started and all of the work that should have finished according to the schedule.

View the Should Have Started/Should Have Finished Report:

  1. From the main Dashboard click on your Project Name and this will take you to the Project Workspace
  2. Click on the “Reports” pie-chart icon from the right hand menu.
  3. Select the Play button in the “Start/Finish Report” Box
  4. Select the schedule you want to analyze

The report now has an option to view activities that potentially 'span' through the current window, or are strictly within the 'window only'.

  • Spanning - Includes activities that start before the selected time window and end after it, extending across the entire period.
  • Window Only - Only the activities that have starts OR finishes within the defined window.  This excludes activities that overlap the start AND end of the window.

There are three (3) donut charts at the top of the report that provide a visual summary.

  • Total Activities: The total number of activities that should have progressed in the period is displayed. In this example, there are forty-five (45) activities.
  • Started Late: Out of the thirty-three activities, in this example, twenty-seven (27) have started late.
  • Finished Late: Out of the thirty-three activities, in this example, thirty-five (35) has finished late.

Note: The Window Start Accuracy and Window Finish Accuracy pages always follow the "Window Only" methodology, not the "Spanning" methodology.

Highlights:

  • Start and Finish Date Variances: Compare Start Date and Finish Date variances from what is differing from the plan at the beginning of the period.
  • Progress: Compare planned vs actual percent complete for each activity.
  • Total Float: Compare planned vs actual total float for each activity.
